Growing up in Westminster, MD, #ProElitePro Samantha Schaefer had the good fortune of riding with some of the very best trainers in the business during her junior career. She led the ranking of the pony, junior hunter, junior jumper, and equitation divisions under the watchful eyes of her mother, Stacey Weiss, trainer Kim Stewart, and the instructors at Heritage Farm–winning national titles for many years with countless horses and ponies.

After an extremely successful four years at Baylor University on their NCEA riding team, Samantha enjoyed leading the country in the Amateur Owner Hunters before becoming a professional in 2017. The wins and national titles have continued to pour in for Samantha in the International Derbies, High Performance Hunters, and Open Jumpers.

She now works alongside her mother and fellow trainer Kate Conover at Shadow Ridge to train a powerhouse group of junior riders and bring along rising four-legged stars in the hunter, equitation, and jumper rings.

Samantha gets as excited to see a young rider win their first pony hunter class, as she does when she herself wins a Grand Prix. Samantha trusts ProElite® feeds for keeping her horses and ponies of all ages and show levels in championship form.

“Quality nutrition is the basis of any successful performance horse operation. Without a balanced grain diet and proper forage, I can’t expect my show jumpers to have the athletic ability to meet the speed and scope demands in the show ring. With the high-quality ingredients and stringent manufacturing processes that are evident in every bag of ProElite feed, I am able to focus on my riding and training regimen without worrying if my horses are getting the nourishment needed to hit their peak performance.”
